Introduction to Beekeeping Class

Bees play an important role in agriculture as pollinators of flowering plants that provide food, fiber, spices, medicines, and animal forage. Come learn how to attract native pollinators and honeybees by planting a pollinator friendly garden and constructing nesting habitat for native pollinators. Introductory information on getting started with beekeeping and honeybee products of the hive. Course meets curriculum requirements for Master Naturalist program. Taught by Jane Sueme.

Isabee's on-line beekeeping instruction tailored for beginning beekeepers to prepare for Spring, 2024.
Beekeeping is local, with regional and local weather, forage and bloom time having an influence on your bees activities.
We recommend beginning your experience with instruction that focuses on equipment choices and management guidelines specific to our region.
2024 Three Session Beginning Beekeeping
Mondays - Jan 22nd and 29th, 2024
6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Class will involve live on-line instruction with links to tailored hand-outs. Upon registration, you will receive a zoom class link with recommended reading in preparation for the class.
A follow-up live, in-field hive inspection at Isabee's, to be scheduled for this coming Spring, 2024
